Fall foliage increasingly popular wedding backdrop

Where Megan Brick grew up, “autumn” is a hot, dry spell marked by wildfires and Santa Ana winds.

So when she moved to Traverse City in 1995, the California native was enchanted by nature’s evolution. And when she decided to tie the knot with fiance Joe O’Grady, she didn’t hesitate before choosing a season.

“We kind of wanted to get married in September, but I think the reason we picked October is because the colors would be beautiful,” said Brick, who planned to marry Saturday at Holy Rosary Church in Cedar. “I think one of the most beautiful times in Traverse City is in the fall.”

Unhappy Bride Part I

Can you say bridezilla….

The wedding was lovely, except for the flowers: They were the wrong color.

So says the bride, Elana Glatt, who was so miffed at the florist that she filed a lawsuit alleging breach of contract.

She says Posy Floral Design on East 72nd Street substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces.

Not only that, the lawsuit, which was filed Friday in state Supreme Court in Manhattan, alleges that the hydrangeas were wilted and brown, and arranged in dusty vases without enough water.

Choosing A Wedding Videographer

There are countless amateurs jumping in and out of the wedding videography industry everyday leaving brides and grooms with poor wedding videos. The primary reason for this: a poor screening process. In most cases a wedding is a once in a lifetime experience and the consumer enters into the frenzy of finding vendors without any prior knowledge. Instead of asking the same generic bridal magazine questions: Who will be the actual videographer on our wedding day? What types of camera equipment will be used: microphones, lights?, and so on? Stick to what matters: Quality, Price, History, and References. Here are some tips that will save money, time, and a priceless memory.
